Marketing Consultations

Jim Tabor, President of Gillen Tabor Communications, Inc.
For many small and medium-sized businesses, effective marketing and public relations are especially challenging. With that in mind, VRA has contracted with Jim Tabor, (www.gillentabor.com), one of New England’s most respected and successful marketing and public relations professionals, to offer members free marketing/public relations consultations. Jim’s clients have included IDX Corporation, The Home Depot, Burlington International Airport, the State of Vermont, and many others.

Here’s how the consultation process works:

1. INITIAL INTERVIEW

A detailed interview (telephone or email) is conducted with the business owner to obtain all relevant information.

2. MARKETING AUDIT

The business owner completes a detailed Marketing Audit form to provide additional information.

3. INDEPENDENT RESEARCH

Independent research is conducted to formulate a “SWOT” (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) Analysis

4. RECOMMENDATIONS

The member receives a written report consisting of the SWOT Analysis and Recommendations.

5. FOLLOWUP

Members discuss key next steps to implement the report’s recommendations.
