About the Awards
Retailers employ more Vermonters than any other business sector except health care. More than 40,000 Vermonters work in retail, 16% of the entire work force. Given the retail sector’s tremendous benefit to Vermont, VRA felt that the “best of the best” should be recognized annually.
The annual Retailer of the Year awards, or “ROYs,” are nominated and selected by vote by VRA’s statewide membership. Membership in VRA is not required for eligibility.All Vermont businesses engaged in retail operations are eligible for nomination and consideration. Nominations may be submitted using the Retailer of the Year nomination form on our website.
These awards will be presented in early 2010 at a gala celebration and ceremony at a location to be announced.
